SECIL is a Portugal based group producing cement, concrete, aggregates, mortars and binders, precast concrete and artificial lime.
SECIL produces cement since 1906 in Ouão (Setúbal, Portugal). Currently the group has 8 cement plants and presence in six countries on four continents.
Total installed cement capacity is of about 9.6 million tonne, with 3 plants in Portugal, 2 plants in Brazil and a plant each in Tunisia, Lebanon and Angola.
SECIL is 100% owned by Semapa, an industrial group operating in the forestry, paper pulp, energy, paper, environment and cement sectors.
Semapa also owns the majority of The Navigator company (formerly named Portucel Soporcel), Europe’s largest producer of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp and world leader in uncoated white paper and 100% of ETSA, a waste management firm involved in the collection, storage and treatment of animal by-products.
